We are an independent, global, one-stop-shop focused on delivering Central Laboratory Services that are tailor-made, timely and flexible to meet the evolving study demands of traditional to increasingly complex trials. Additionally, we provide Functional Service Provider (FSP) Solutions, supporting our clients with scientific and technical expertise, acting as an extension of their team, coordinating all laboratory related needs, advising on strategies for lab data collection and providing end-to-end analytical and logistical solutions.

Job Summary

The Manager of Purchasing is responsible for managing the job functions related to all or specified aspects of the purchasing functions. This includes negotiating supplier pricing, long-term supplier agreements, supply management, staff scheduling, and quality management functions related to purchasing functions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Manages Purchasing team with a focus on ensuring stocking levels of critical supplies are maintained, negotiating with high volume suppliers, and providing supplier feedback as needed.
  • Helps maintain proper staffing levels within the Purchasing team.
  • Guarantees timely communication across multiple levels of the organization on purchasing and inventory related issues and/or to gain appropriate approvals when needed.
  • Able to negotiate simple procurement contracts and negotiate for best pricing. Familiar with and able to transact within the ERP system.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and implements improvements as needed.
  • Responsible for supplies volumes for CTM, ISS, BRS, and SPS Assists in managing current suppliers
  • Identifies new suppliers as needed Maintains a clean, 6S work environment
  • Responsible for ordering office and safety supplies for the LabConnect business.
  • Reports data on a weekly and / or monthly basis when needed.
  • Performs other related duties and tasks as necessary or as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) with 5+ years relevant experience OR 7+ years relevant experience in lieu of degree Degree in Supply Chain Management.
  • 2-3 years of previous supervisory/management experience, required.
  • 3-5 years experience in a regulated environment preferred.
  • Prior knowledge or experience in procurement and services
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems required, Microsoft Navient preferred.
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Six Sigma certification preferred.

Working Hours/Location

  • In office, Monday - Friday
  • Standard business hours
