We are looking for a creative, curious, and motivated individual to join our corporate data science team, which is part of the CTO’s Office at HID Global. Your primary focus will be developing, testing, debugging and optimizing algorithms for real-time location systems (RTLS) and other IoT sensing systems such as vibrational condition monitors. You will also have the opportunity to work with and learn from colleagues in other technology areas such as UWB, cryptography, AI agentic systems, statistical analysis, and many others. In some projects you may be leading the development and implementation of algorithms that provide new analytic capabilities. In other projects you may be part of a team seeking to understand the characteristics of current products or services to improve their performance.

As our Data Scientist, you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Developing novel analytic methods and/or adapt known analytic methods to carry out various commercially relevant functions.
- Developing new and informative ways to visualize data and results and effectively communicate your findings to managers and/or other non-specialists.
- Optimizing and improving on algorithms that are part of current commercial offerings.
- Working within multidisciplinary teams to develop new system designs or debugging and optimizing existing ones to enable or enhance analytic capabilities.
- Inventing new analytic systems and methods, write invention disclosures, and work with others to create patent applications.
- M.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, or other related field. Candidates with equivalent education plus relevant work experience may also be considered.
- 2+ years of relevant post-graduate commercial experience developing novel data analytic solutions
- Strong skills in commercial algorithm development using Python or other scientific programing languages.
- Strong skills in modern machine learning platforms such as Tensorflow and PyTorch
- Demonstrated working knowledge of C/C++.
- Able to apply fundamental statistical concepts to data and experiments
- Proficient at creating visualizations and other means to interpret and explain key characteristics of data and/or results
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure
- Demonstrably inventive through a history of technical publications, presentations, web posts, and/or patents
- Comfortable learning about and working across diverse sensor technologies and analytic approaches and have demonstrated this throughout your career.
