Job Overview

The Senior Director Logistics NA reports to the Chief Logistic Officer and is a member of the Global Logistics Management Team. The Senior Director is the Head of the legal entity of Getinge Group Logistic America (GGLA) with statutory responsibility. The Senior Director has full executive authority for the local site and is responsible for overseeing company operations. Local site supply chain, manufacturing, finance and selected local site support functions will report with dotted lines to the Senior Director. In addition, as part of the Logistics Management Team and being the main person responsible for all logistics activities for the One Getinge Region Americas, the Senior Director will work together with relevant managers to secure short, medium and long term efficiency and profitability of the business. The position works in partnership with sales management and the business leaders in the region to positively contribute to excellent sustainable business performance. The position also, challenges and develops the logistics functions for the region within the scope of responsibility, and in dialogue with Global Management and other stakeholders, it actively supports the sales region to secure higher customer experienced product availability at a reduced cost.

Job Responsibilities And Essential Duties

  • Sit on the Board of Directors for GGLA
  • Negotiate and agree service levels agreements with the respective sales companies in the region.
  • Responsible for developing the Logistics strategy in the region.
  • As part of the Global logistics management team develop the Global logistics strategy and flow optimization.
  • Manage satellite warehouses located in the region, both financially and operationally.
  • Manage and be responsible for over $100M of finish goods inventory in the Americas.
  • Oversee and responsible for Foreign Trade Zone in US.
  • Develop scorecards for comparisons and benchmarking.
  • Manage and develop the local logistics team in the region.
  • Manage regional 3rd party warehouse operation to budget and agreed service levels.
  • Manage customer service activities and ensure timely proactive communication.
  • Develop tools to make the warehouses comparable regarding their cost structure & KPI’s.
  • Responsible for budgeting and forecasting process of your area.
  • Continually drive improvement projects to reduce cost and improve service.
  • Support Risk Management activities for warehousing and transportation.
  • Liaise with the PMO for projects start-up and status reporting.
  • Manage the transportation spend and carrier selection in the region to reflect the needed service level for end customer deliveries.
  • Ensure EHS compliance to standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Logistics, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience leading logistics at strategic as well as operational level – in a global organization.

  • All levels of Getinge management and Global Logistics team.
  • Customers and external logistics partners.

Environmental/Safety/Physical Work Conditions

  • Ensures environmental consciousness and safe practices are exhibited in decisions
  • Travel is estimated at 25-30% annually, including some occasional global travel which will depend on the portfolio of projects that the position will be involved in.

The salary range for this position is $200,000-275,000 per year with a 35% bonus depending on experience and location
