The Community Day Services (CDS) provides a variety of programs to enhance each individual’s adaptive living skills, economic self-sufficiency, overall level of independence and integration into the community.

The CDS is seeking a Training Specialist/DSP to join the Community Day Services Program.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4 PM

Pay Rate: $20.54 hourly

Responsibilities

  • The individual will be responsible for implementing methods of instruction consistent with current skills and performance curriculum
  • Adapts work stations to meet the needs of the consumers: maintains a clean and safe work environment
  • Prepares required documentation for agency caseworkers
  • Provides crisis counseling and emergency interventions to consumers as needed
  • Responsible for transporting clients in a Van
  • Monitors and records operating conditions of vehicle daily and reports mechanical problems to the Supervisor immediately
  • While transporting clients, complies to route, safety and other transportation procedures
  • Tracks and records client transportation and other information as required

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Able to demonstrate approved behavior management techniques
  • DSP certification preferred, not required (In-house training available)
  • CPR and First Aide Certification preferred not required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Pass a criminal background check and physical/drug test
  • Pass a MVR background check
