Description

The Loan Review Analyst resides in the Enterprise Risk Management team and will help conduct loan reviews across the Bank's various non-consumer portfolios. This role involves analyzing financial information, collateral, and underwriting decisions to ensure compliance with Bank policies and regulatory guidelines. The analyst will evaluate the quality and condition of individual credits, determine appropriateness of risk ratings, participate in special projects and provide the VP of Loan Review timely and objective assessments of the credits reviewed.

Internal loan review provides management and the board with an objective, independent, and timely assessment of the overall quality of the loan portfolio. The Loan Review Analysts is expected to validate the loan risk ratings based on the timely identification of problem loans by the business units so that necessary action can be taken to strengthen credit quality and minimize the Bank's credit loss. An effective credit risk review system identifies relevant trends that affect the quality of the loan portfolio and highlights portfolio segments that are potential problem areas.

After one year as our Loan Review Analyst, you will know you were successful if you are able to handle the following confidently and independently.

• Conduct loan review analysis of loans in the Bank's various portfolios. These reviews include: Analyses of financial information, cash flow models, collateral, and underwriting decisions; Ensures individual loan transactions are adequately underwritten, properly graded, appropriately priced, and conform to policy; Analyses of credit terms/structures, counterparty financial performance, economic/industry operating environment, and other relevant risk factors to ensure all credit extensions have complied with Bank policies and regulatory expectations; evaluating compliance with regulatory guidelines and bank policies; Assessing the condition and quality of individual credits; based on financial, collateral, and documentation analysis; Determining the appropriate risk rating on accounts according to current Lending Policy.
• Participate in special projects and targeted loan reviews as directed by department management.
• Interact with lending officers, credit administration, loan servicing, and other bank employees in the process of performing loan review due diligence.
• Assist with portfolio stress testing and scenario analysis to measure the impact of various economic conditions on portfolio resilience and support the quarterly allowance for credit loss (CECL/ACL) estimation process.
• Participate in discussions with business units regarding loan grading and conclusions regarding credit underwriting, approval, and administration. Works to develop and maintain functional partnerships with colleagues in the line of business to ensure effective loan grading communications.
  
  

Requirements

Technical Product Manager, expected skills and education…

• A Bachelor's degree in a business-related or accounting field requires at least 2 years of experience in a commercial portfolio.
• Knowledge in multi-family and healthcare lending and experience in banking or a financial services industry background preferred.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to influence at all levels of the organization through strong verbal and written communication skills and confidentiality required
