Role And Responsibilities

  • Are you a seasoned leader ready to make an impact? We’re looking for a dynamic Plant Manager to take charge of daily operations and drive efficiency across production processes. You’ll play a key role in shaping strategic plans, optimizing production schedules, and managing resources, all while leading a talented team of managers.
  • Provide strategic oversight of daily operations, leading the coordination of production schedules, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure seamless execution of processes, alignment with company objectives, and the delivery of timely, high-quality output.
  • Provides effective supervision and leadership for all direct reports, including the Operations Manager, Production Manager, Quality Control Manager, and the Accounts Representative.
  • Oversee operational costs and budget management to ensure financial efficiency while meeting production goals, implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality or safety.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for plant performance, including production volume, downtime, defect rates, and employee efficiency, and report regularly to senior management.
  • Ensure all departments comply with company policies, industry regulations, and maintain alignment with quality standards and performance targets throughout the production process.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance (QA) processes to ensure products meet or exceed customer specifications. Lead and support the QC team in creating and executing comprehensive quality standards and operational methods.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of procurement records and adherence to industry regulations, including FDA (Food and Drug Administration), USDA (United States Department of Agriculture), customer specifications, ANSI (American National Standards Institute), ISO (International Organization for Standardization), ASQ (American Society for Quality), and SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards.
  • Compile and analyze reports on plant performance, product quality, and safety to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and enforce safety and health initiatives within the plant, ensuring full adherence to OSHA regulations and maintaining a safe, compliant work environment for all employees.
  • Foster proactive communication with vendors and customers about production timelines, quality control, and concerns, ensuring alignment across departments and meeting customer expectations.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions, and driving process enhancements to boost production speed, quality, and safety.
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Food Science, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Safety Certifications: HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), SQF (Safe Quality Food), ServSafe or equivalent food safety training.
  • Minimum of 1 OSHA Safety Certifications or equivalent. Inventory management and barcode scanning systems experience or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to track real-time production activities.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Preferred Skills

  • Proven expertise in inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
  • Proven expertise working with Salesforce, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and/or Marketing Cloud.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to lead and manage change within a fast-paced and dynamic production environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analytics tools.
  • Advanced knowledge in industry-specific safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, OSHA).
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of customer requirements and the ability to ensure that production aligns with customer expectations.

Physical And Environmental Demands

  • Requires extended periods of standing while overseeing production processes and managing teams. May also involve walking, lifting, or carrying materials up to 20 pounds.
  • The role demands flexibility in working in varying temperatures, including cold storage areas and hot production lines, and exposure to loud noise from machinery and equipment.
  • Frequent use of hands for tasks such as operating a computer keyboard, mouse, and office equipment. Additionally, the position involves navigating machinery and equipment within a manufacturing facility and performing physical inspections of production lines, which may require bending, reaching, or lifting.
  • Strong vision is necessary to read detailed reports, spreadsheets, and screens. A high level of hearing acuity is required for communication with employees, clients, and external partners via phone or in person, particularly in a noisy environment.
  • Adherence to strict safety protocols and cleanliness standards is essential to comply with food safety regulations.
  • The may involve working both in the office and within production environments. Extended or non-standard hours, including evenings or weekends, may be necessary to meet deadlines or address urgent production issues.
