As a Logistics Coordinator, this role demands a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized individual to ensure the smooth, cost-effective, and timely movement of salmon. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional logistics coordination skills, a strong ability to solve complex problems, and the capability to collaborate seamlessly with both internal teams and external stakeholders. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to changing demands, is essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

Logistics & Transportation Coordination

  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments of fresh salmon, ensuring on-time delivery to customers.
  • Liaise with trucking companies, freight forwarders, and cold storage facilities to manage inbound and outbound logistics.
  • Optimize shipping routes and carrier selection to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Monitor real-time shipment tracking and proactively resolve any delays or disruptions.
  • Support airfreight inbound logistics, ensuring proper handling of perishable seafood.
  • Manage import/export documentation, health certificates, and customs clearance processes.
  • Support traceability and quality assurance process.

Communication

  • Serve as a key liaison between processing plants, farms, transportation providers, and sales teams to ensure seamless logistics execution.
  • Work closely with sales to ensure accurate order processing and on-time delivery.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships with logistics partners, suppliers, and storage facilities.

Process Improvement & Cost Optimization

  • Identify and implement efficiency improvements in supply chain operations.
  • Analyze freight and storage costs, negotiating better rates where possible.
  • Contribute to the development of SOPs and best practices for logistics operations.

Qualifications And Skills

  • 2-5 years' experience in supply chain, import and export logistics/transportation (preferably in the seafood, food manufacturing, or perishable goods industry).
  • Experience with cold chain logistics and international shipping is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in ERP and logistics software.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills for tracking shipments, costs, and inventory

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional problem-solving and organizational abilities, thriving in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, effectively collaborating with vendors and internal teams.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure while successfully managing multiple priorities.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
