As the finance manager, you play an important role in helping us fulfill this mission by managing the DHA’s accounts payable, and accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, grants and general ledger, supervising relevant staff for these functions, and evaluating fiscal/operational performance of DHA programs.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervises accounts payable supervisor and accuracy and promptness of the payment process.
- Supervises accounts receivable supervisor and accuracy and promptness of the receivable process.
- Supervises grants and general ledger accounting and accuracy and promptness of the reporting process.
- Reconciles general ledger for accounts payable, receivable and utilities project.
- Reviews and processes a variety of technical transactions; manages special projects.
- Assists auditors as required in preparation of financial analyses and reports.
- Collects financial and administrative information and compiles data for reports; recommends improvements in budgeting systems and procedures.
- Supervises and directs the daily activities of payment staff; screens and assigns workload; plans, prioritizes and assigns tasks and projects; monitors work and evaluates performance.
- Responds to requests for information; provides technical information to DHA staff as authorized; identifies and researches budgeting issues, and recommends solutions.
Knowledge and Skills for Success
- Knowledge of DHA organization, operations, policies and procedures.
- Understanding of public sector accounting and budgeting systems, generally accepted accounting principles and generally accepted auditing standards.
- Knowledge of personnel rules and budgeting systems.
- Skill in interpreting and applying federal rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of the principles of record keeping and records management and spreadsheet software applications.
- Skill in the analysis and application of budgeting and accounting principles and standards.
- The ability to effectively delegate tasks and authority and manage multiple projects under a tight deadline.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
- Five (5) years of accounting work experience, including two (2) years in the public sector
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
