We are looking for enthusiastic and service-oriented individuals to join our team. Located in Central Phoenix, the Adobe Clubhouse at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a welcoming golf club atmosphere. We want our members and guests to receive an unforgettable dining experience. In addition to our Restaurant and Market, we will be hosting a variety of banquets and events in creating memorable experiences.

Job Summary

The Barista’s purpose is to serve food and beverages in The Pantry, our grab and go market/coffee shop, and to provide exceptional customer service. The goal is to provide a welcoming atmosphere where guests can enjoy a delicious coffee drink and light snack/meal.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities listed below are essential to the employee’s position.

Customer Service:

  • Greet guests / members in a warm and friendly manner.
  • Answer questions about the menu.
  • Communicate customer feedback to managers, as necessary
  • Make recommendations based on customer preferences.

Operational:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of teas and coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccino, and latte.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, cleanliness, and presentation.
  • Operate coffee brewing equipment, espresso machines, and other café equipment.
  • Handle cash transactions, debit and credit payments; and maintain accurate records of sales.
  • Tracking and ordering inventory for the food and beverage supplies, such as coffee, milk, napkins, cups, retail items, etc.
  • Cleaning equipment and countertops, restocking supplies, sanitizing work areas.
  • Keeping The Pantry clean and stocked including sweeping floors.

Other:

  • May be scheduled to work at banquet events.
  • Participates in pre-shift meetings, taste tests, and training.
  • Conform with all safety standards and use of all appropriate safety equipment.
  • Follow good personal hygiene guidelines.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Education and Experience Required

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional service – should be friendly, approachable, and attentive.
  • Has basic coffee knowledge, such as how to prepare common coffee beverages.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Strong teamwork abilities to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
  • Strong communication skills including effective listening.
  • Highly organized to manage the Pantry.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes in workflow, menu items, staff, etc.
  • Ability to remain calm during peak hours or challenging guests or members.
  • Comfortable in upselling.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of food handling regulations.
  • Basic math skills.

Computer Skills

  • Ability to use Point of Sale (POS) System
  • Ability to use employee self-service on company’s human resources/payroll database

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Required: Position may utilize golf carts; thus, must have a valid driver’s license. Unexpired Arizona food and liquor certifications. Must be at least 19 years of age.

Work Environment

This position primarily works both indoors and outdoors. At times, extreme temperatures may be part of the environment.

Pay: $16 per hour (tipped position)
