The Electrical Field Engineer is a technical lead on industrial construction and fabrication projects. They are responsible for electrical, instrumentation, and fire & gas scope. They provide direct support to both staff and craft personnel.

Pay: Up to $1,038 per Day, DOE

Housing/Meals/Transportation: Provided while on the North Slope

Schedule: 3 weeks ON 3 weeks OFF

  • 80.5 hours per week
  • 26 weeks ON and 26 weeks OFF

Licensing Information and Requirements:

  • Alaska Electrical License preferred
  • License from recognized reciprocal states, Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Oklahoma, Montana, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming, Texas

Essential Job Functions:

  • Become familiar with project specifications, drawings, and contract.
  • Assist with project estimating using estimating software.
  • Perform material takeoffs and scrubs.
  • Prepare and manage wire and cable tag packages.
  • Develop walkdown packages in preparation for system energization.
  • Identify, engage and oversee subcontractors required for the project.
  • Lead, advise, and assist the Quality Control and turnover process.
  • Write request for information (RFI’s), track and address RFI responses, to include submittal of change orders, Field Material Requests, Redline markups, and briefing of craft personnel.
  • This position will require working in Anchorage and/or deployment to the North Slope. The North Slope deployments may be irregular or may be rotational (such as 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off). Deployment schedules depend on employee preference and project length.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, or Equivalent
  • Five (5) years’ electrical field experience; Heavy industrial experience required
  • Current and valid driver’s license, with clean driving record
  • Familiar with National Electrical Code “NEC”
  • Proven fluency with computers, including ability to learn new software.
  • NSTC certification w/ASH and H2S module
  • Preference will be given to applicants with any of the following: North Slope experience, previous field/project engineer experience, Electrical Journeyman License; EIT or PE registration; Electrical Administrator License; NICET and/or Alaska Fire Systems certification; or experience with Sharepoint, Bluebeam, Estimating software, AutoCAD, P6 or BIM software.

  • Ability to handle stress and possess positive characteristics even in difficult or challenging situations.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer skills commensurate with program and job applications.
  • Must be self-motivated, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow up skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external team members or customers in a professional demeanor.
  • Ability and willingness to work hours as needed to meet or exceed deadlines.
