Founded in 1974, Swords to Plowshares is a community-based not-for-profit organization that provides counseling and case management, employment and training, housing, and legal assistance to veterans in the San Francisco Bay Area. We promote and protect the rights of veterans through advocacy, public education, and partnerships with local, state, and national entities. Believing that war causes wounds and suffering that last beyond the battlefield, our mission is to support veterans as they navigate the challenges of post-military life, and to prevent and end veteran homelessness through wrap-around care and informed advocacy. Schedule (Days and Hours): Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM

Salary Range: $27.00 hourly
Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitorial Cleaner to maintain cleanliness and organization across our facility, both inside and out. This role includes cleaning offices, community rooms, a computer lab, common areas, hallways, trash rooms, stairs, and the lobby area, as well as maintaining floors through waxing and stripping. The Janitorial Cleaner will also be responsible for enhancing the exterior curb appeal of the property. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently during the scheduled hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing.
- Clean and maintain offices, community rooms, the computer lab, hallways, trash rooms, stairs, and the lobby area.
- Wax and strip floors to ensure a polished and professional appearance.
- Enhance and maintain the exterior curb appeal, including cleaning entryways, walkways, and surrounding areas.
- Restock cleaning supplies and restroom items as needed.
- Remove trash and recyclables in accordance with proper disposal guidelines.
- Identify and report maintenance or repair needs.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a clean and safe environment for all.
