Position Overview:

The Power BI Analyst is a cross functional role combining business analytics and technical dashboard and report development. The Analyst will inherit, support changes and further development of a set of existing reports already functioning within the organization including reports using data from Salesforce (Site Tracker), Microsoft CRM, Microsoft Dynamics F&O and the enterprise data warehouse. Additionally, the Analyst will be involved in setting up new Power BI reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Dashboard Development: Develop and own Power BI dashboards to enable departments within the organization to make high quality decisions based on a clear presentation of operational data.
  • Requirement Gathering and User Interaction: Interface with users across the organization in requirement gathering sessions.
  • Technical and Business Solutions: Combine technical knowledge and business acumen to understand the essence of business problems and solve them with technical solutions.
  • Reporting: Conceptualize, prototype, and deliver highly functional, interactive Power BI reporting.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend business process improvements.
  • Data Problem Solving: Use effective interpersonal skills to understand and offer effective solutions to data problems.
  • Objective Prioritization and Issue Resolution: Prioritize key objectives, goals, management and troubleshooting of critical issues and suggest resolutions for any ongoing issues.
  • Ad Hoc Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as needed to support the dynamic needs of the Business Process Office department.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience developing reports and dashboards in business analytics solutions such as Microsoft Power BI.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; will consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude towards the development and growth of data analytics within the organization.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Business Requirements and Process Understanding: Ability to work effectively with internal customers to gather requirements, understand business processes and define and implement outcome measurements.
  • Data Warehouse Concepts and Architectures: Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts and architectures.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience in a SQL Server environment, with strong proficiency in SQL and T-SQL.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with Power Query and DAX
  • Analytical Skills and Data Management: Ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Querying, Report Writing, and Presentation Skills: Skill with queries, report writing and presenting reporting products to users.

Contractor Status:

This position is a 6-month W2 contract role with the potential for extension or conversion based on project needs and individual performance. Please note that as a contractor, you will not be eligible for Extenet’s benefits such as insurance coverage and performance bonuses.
