VP of Operations
The VP of Operations role oversees project management, developmental engineering, and manufacturing processes and is responsible for producing high-quality, Class II and Class III medical devices and products, efficiently and at scale.
This role plays an important part, in partnership with the CEO and Director of Organizational Development, in developing and promoting a positive culture throughout the organization and is an active communicator that can effectively engage with all organization levels including the Board of Directors and represent the company to external parties as appropriate.
The VP of Operations will not only build teams towards continued functional excellence, but also collaborate exceptionally well in a dedicated, cross-functional leadership team focused on results and accountability.
Ultimately, as a VP of Operations, you will play an essential role in ensuring that the medical devices developed and manufactured by our company meet the highest quality standards and ensure that all phases of the operation remain profitable with efficient processes in place.

Essential Job Functions:
• Lead Cross-Functional Teams: A rapidly growing medical device company requires effective collaboration and coordination among various departments, such as engineering, project management, materials management, production, finance, and quality assurance. You will play a critical role in developing, coaching, and leading teams to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
• Oversee Production: You will be responsible for high-level oversight and management of the production process and ensure that all manufacturing targets are met in terms of quality, efficiency, and cost. You will work closely with the production, quality and engineering managers to ensure that the manufacturing process is performed in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and guidelines.
• Operational Strategy: You will develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives. This can include streamlining processes, enhancing efficiency, and optimizing resources to support the company’s rapid growth.
• Quality Control and Regulatory Compliance: You will ensure that all production and developmental engineering operations adhere to the company Quality Management System procedures and processes aligned to all regulatory requirements for Class II and Class III medical devices.
• Developing and Maintaining Relationships: As a VP of Operations, you play a strategic role in the growth of the company through developing and maintaining relationships with direct reports, cross-functional teams, key stakeholders, clients, suppliers, and regulatory agencies. This involves effective communication, successful negotiation skills, and a customer-centric approach.
· Growth Management: Osypka Medtec is a rapidly growing business. You will be a key stakeholder in managing the development of the organization and its managers, people as well as process to be adequate for the state of the organization.
• Process Improvement: You will look for opportunities to optimize process and improve production efficiency by reviewing the process and providing a basis for streamlined workflow and implementation of the latest technologies.
• Risk Management: As part of the management team, you will have a profound responsibility for risk management including risk identification, mitigation, testing, and validation of solutions.
• Resource Planning and Management: You will work closely with department managers to ensure that resources required for operations are availed in a timely manner and allocated according to strategic business priorities.
• Budgeting and Cost Management: With rapid growth comes the need for strategic budgeting and cost control. You will be responsible for developing and managing the operational budget plan, identifying cost-saving opportunities and negotiating contracts with suppliers.
Education and Experience:
• MBA Preferred, BA/BS, in Engineering or related industry preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant leadership/management experience
• Experience working with manufacturing-based technology processes and principles required
• Experience working in the medical device industry preferred
• Experience working with FDA, ISO13485 / 21CFR part 11 a plus
• Program or project management experience a plus
• Sound written and oral communication skills; must be able to write and understand routine reports, follow oral and written instructions, and speak effectively with management, customers, and technical staff audiences
• Must have knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment and be familiar with commonly used email, Internet, word processing, databases, and spreadsheets
• Must have the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and materials
• Technical understanding of documentation, safety and design application required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Will directly supervise manufacturing, materials management, project management, and engineering managers.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift, bend or move up to 25 pounds
• Ability to adjust schedule to meet the needs of the business.
Compensation:
- $181,400 to $231,800 Annually Depending Upon Qualifications
