Description
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Sports Coordinator performs a wide range of administrative and office support activities to facilitate the efficient operation of YMCA Sports programming. The Sports Coordinator impacts the lives of youth and families through implementing the rules, direct care, organization, supervision and well-being of participants in the sports activity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Sports Coordinator performs a wide range of administrative and office support activities to facilitate the efficient operation of YMCA Sports programming. The Sports Coordinator impacts the lives of youth and families through implementing the rules, direct care, organization, supervision and well-being of participants in the sports activity.
Essential Functions
- Resolves administrative problems and inquiries.
- Assists in data entry of player registration.
- Manages program inventory, audits, and analysis.
- Assists with team, division and league set up.
- Answers and returns program phone calls and emails. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
- Processes financial transactions for participants.
- Develops and delivers participant and parent communication.
- Prepares materials and attends volunteer coach meetings.
- Assists Sports Director in scheduling, safety, and use of facilities (on and off-site) for program activities and events.
- Actively participates in branch and department staff meetings and/or trainings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 18 years of age
- Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail required
- Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software
- Demonstrated success with organization, data entry and communication
- Demonstrated leadership, dependability & flexibility in work hours
- Complete within 90 days of hire: Child Abuse Prevention Training; BLS CPR; First Aid (provided by YMCA)
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Successful clearance of background check

- Hours will include evening and weekend work.
