SPD/MDC Shift Coordinator

Position Summary:

The SPD/MDC Shift Coordinator is responsible for the direct supervision of all instrumentation processing and distribution. This includes overseeing the performance of Technicians I, Technicians II, and Senior Clerk III. The role ensures adherence to daily standard work, proper operation of sterilization processes, employee productivity, and compliance with departmental policies and procedures. The coordinator also manages J.I.T staff and collaborates closely with Assistant Unit Managers on daily issues.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Supervises staff, daily job tasks, and work priorities.
• Trains and schedules staff employees. Oversees performance management of staff.
• Communicates with Nursing Services, Medical Staff, Ancillary, and SPD employees to request technical information, ordering, and service.
• Establishes inventory supply levels and maintains instruments, equipment tray accessories, and medical and surgical back-up inventory.
• Adheres to regulatory standards regarding infection control and safety, specifically related to SPD functions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.
