Key Responsibilities
- Estimate Development: Review architectural and engineering drawings to produce accurate and detailed cost estimates.
- Project Analysis: Evaluate materials, labor, and equipment requirements, ensuring comprehensive and competitive bids.
- Vendor Collaboration: Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and confirm project requirements.
- Budget Management: Assist in creating and maintaining project budgets, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company goals.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential cost risks and opportunities, providing solutions to maintain profitability.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, and clients to refine project scopes and budgets.
- Market Insight: Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and construction techniques to enhance estimate accuracy.
- Experience: 7+ years in construction estimating, specifically within residential construction or custom home building.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Software Skills: Competency in estimating software and tools (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to assess project scope and create comprehensive financial plans.
- Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
- Education: A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
