Telemetry Technician

Job Overview:
As a Telemetry Technician, you will provide physicians and nurses with data for use in the diagnosis and the planning of interventions related to cardiac conditions.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Graduate
- Completion of dysrhythmia course
- Enrolled in an Accredited Nursing program helpful
- 12 Lead ECG competency
- Previous clinical/patient care experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:
Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable):
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions):
- Varies
- Evenings
- Full-time
Essential Functions:
- Conducts cardiac monitoring on adolescent to geriatric patients, including application of monitors, rhythm interpretation, and performance of 12 lead EKG
- Participates in hospital quality improvement activities
- Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to determine each patient's age-specific needs and provide age-specific treatment
