About The Position

Specialty Systems, Inc. has an opening for a Systems Administrator with the below described skills and experience to join our team of technical professionals supporting our Department of Defense customer at the Joint Base MDL. In this position, you will have a high-profile role in the development and qualification of systems used for the support of unique Department of Defense systems. Ideal candidates will have a broad set of technical skills and must be able to work both individually and within a team environment. As a member of our team, you will be able to experience the professional satisfaction of playing a key role in ensuring that our Department of Defense customers’ systems that have a direct impact on our country’s warfighting and peace-keeping capabilities are performing at optimal levels. This position is located at our Toms River, NJ location.

Job Responsibilities Will Include

  • Support for digital media, computer desktops, end points, and other associated equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating digital media, and network controls.
  • Perform required remediation of vulnerabilities on media devices.
  • Create and maintain clear and concise documentation of the environment, exhibiting excellent change control and an appreciation of the control of risk.
  • Deploy technology equipment across Lakehurst campus as needed.

Position Qualification Requirements

  • Must have a Secret level or higher clearance.
  • Must have a BS degree in Information Technology, or a related technical field. Candidates who do not meet the degree requirement but have extensive experience may be considered.
  • Should have Security+ CE or the ability to obtain one within 3-6 months.
  • At least 2 years of general technology experience working with video, audio, VTC endpoints, LAN / WAN / TCP-IP admin.

Technical

  • Must have an advanced understanding of computer, network environments and devices.
  • Strong knowledge in audio/video engineering, LAN, VLAN, WAN, security.
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense Cybersecurity Directives is a plus.
  • Intermediate skill with scripting languages for automation purposes is desired.
  • Knowledge and configuration experience with computers, and network components
  • Must be able to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.

Security Clearance Notice

  • Applicants selected must have a U.S. Government security clearance of secret level or higher and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
