A “Day in the Life” of the Senior Paralegal

The Senior Paralegal will have substantial litigation experience (7+ years) and will report directly to the General Counsel on significant company matters. Common daily activities may include the following

  • Provide support on employment/commercial/regulatory litigation matters and subpoena responses, including internal investigations, document holds, document management, document summary/analysis, and document production.
  • Supervise and regularly audit Legal Assistant to ensure documents are properly labeled/filed and responsive deadlines are docketed/calendared.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memos with citations to applicable law for attorney review
  • Manage internal stakeholders and external counsel towards litigation and compliance goals utilizing spreadsheets.
  • Serve as gatekeeper to counsel, ensuring that all matters appropriate for legal assistant and/or paralegal handling are resolved competently, and that those requiring counsel are prioritized appropriately.


This will be a hybrid position, with attendance a minimum of three days per week at our Gilbert, AZ headquarters required.

Key Skills

  • Document Management & Production a successful track record of managing large document databases and productions is a must. This will include substantial experience with the tools (e.g., Everlaw) necessary to manage and produce documents in document-intensive matters, familiarity with subpoena rules/related objections/legal holds, and experience with privilege reviews/logs.
  • Legal Investigation experience initiating/implementing legal holds and gathering/organizing evidence for litigation matters (preferably trial) is necessary.
  • Legal Research/Writing the ability to review claim/litigation files, distill/summarize material facts, perform legal research, and produce legal memos with proper citations is also important.
  • Technical Proficiency a strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is critical. An advanced proficiency with Excel, including data analysis and spreadsheet management for tracking regulatory compliance, litigation matters and document production is strongly preferred.
