Syntax Talent is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator for a client in the civil engineering industry.
This person will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with construction projects, ensuring that all financial and material resources are effectively allocated. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent mathematical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Conduct site visits to gather information on materials needed, labor requirements, and other factors.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to discuss and resolve issues related to project estimates.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and project budgets for construction projects.
- Monitor and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle to ensure accuracy.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Utilize estimating software to prepare estimates and maintain an organized database of project costs.
- Prepare and present reports on project costs and progress to management and clients.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating or a similar role.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar).
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in preparing estimates.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
