Job Summary
Strawser Construction Inc. provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers’ needs. The lab technician is responsible for analyzing materials for the purpose of compliance to Ohio state specifications and company quality control plans. The technician performs the duties while adhering to company safety policies and procedures. We are currently seeking a Lab Technician for our Hamilton, Ohio facility.

Job Summary
Strawser Construction Inc. provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers’ needs. The lab technician is responsible for analyzing materials for the purpose of compliance to Ohio state specifications and company quality control plans. The technician performs the duties while adhering to company safety policies and procedures. We are currently seeking a Lab Technician for our Hamilton, Ohio facility.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for analyzing materials, including, asphalt, aggregates, and emulsions
- Operates, maintains, and cleans laboratory testing equipment and workspace
- Accurately performs testing of aggregates and asphalt products according to Ohio DOT specifications and company quality control plans
- Record and maintain quality control reports
- Analyze data, troubleshoot, and recommend process control adjustments under the supervision of the quality control manager
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
- Previous lab experience preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Must be energetic and willing to learn all aspects of the position.
- Able to be flexible with duties and working hours
- Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds with or without assistance
- Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
- Frequent exposure to loud noise
- Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
- Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
- Required to work varying hours, including nights/weekends, Overtime as required
- Some travel may be required (15%)
