Department: DIABETES EDUCATION
Schedule: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift,
Position Summary
Contributes to the delivery of quality patient care by providing nutrition services (including assessment, modified diet formulation, and nutrition counseling/consultation) for all age groups cared for at SGMC.
Position will be a duel role in Diabetes and Bariatrics.
Education will primarily be an outpatient role with occasional inpatient follow up as needed.
Help with growth and development of staff and other allied health professionals regarding nutritional needs of patients.
Collaborates and confers with physicians, physician extenders, and nurses, in the management of patient nutritional care and concern.
Vigilance with cost effectiveness within the department as evidenced through efficient use of materials and human resources.
Maintains an atmosphere which insures SGMC’s values, goals, policies and procedures are consistently supported and enforced.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Hazard from constant exposure to patients with potentially contagious diseases. Considerable mental effort, ability to work in confined high stress environment. Able to lift and/or carry objects up to 30 pounds. Moderate amount of standing and walking.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Four year college degree in Dietetics or related field of study - ADA approved program.
- Current registered by the American Dietetic Association.
- Current licensed by the State of Georgia as Licensed Dietitian.
- Skillful in verbal and non-verbal communication.
