Description
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Performs a wide range of mechanical procedures mainly involving the handling of refractory metals powders and resulting products. Ability to read and interpret engineering print packages and use of proper judgement on instructions. Ability to learn to produce a wide variety of jobs, much of which would be learned through OJT (on job training) and observation.
Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reading, writing, basic mathematics and mechanical comprehension skills. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Language Skills
Ability to read, comprehend and interpret detailed instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple documentation. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisor and employees in the manufacturing department.
Mathematical/Analytical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reads and interprets material blueprint drawings and information.
- Ability to interpret and implement processing instructions and complete documentation associated with the procedures.
- Receives general instructions on new assignments.
- Maintaining a low level of scrap.
- Operate High Pressure Isostatic press to produce semi-dense powder packages.
- Operates high temperature hydrogen atmosphere furnaces for the following procedures: powder sintering, brazing processes, impregnate consolidation and copper infiltration and consolidate heaters configurations.
- Perform basic inspection procedures to assure conformity of produced materials using a variety of measurement tools
- Basic ability to operate machine shop tool such as lathes and grinders for bar turning, heater forming, and emitters polishing
- Ability to TIG weld
- Enters accurate information on work orders records, logs, and other report forms.
- Ability to enter data in excel spreadsheets
- Uses personal documentation for review and use during repeat procedures.
- Aptitude to adjust to changes in process improvements or instruction updates.
- Other duties as required/assigned
