I. Job Summary

The Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS) Coordinator will be responsible for all data entry into the HMIS system and will work to analyze and assess homelessness data. Support in data quality, will make recommendations for actions, and assist in homelessness policy and procedure implementation within the Housing program at MCHS. The HMIS Coordinator will also perform general administrative duties directly related to the management and business operations of the housing program.

Ii. Duties & Essential Job Functions

  • Attends monthly MSHMIS System Administrator call-in meetings with HMIS participating agencies. Prepare and deliver call center related HUD, MSHDA, and local reports to supervisor
  • Provide relevant data for the annual Homelessness Point In-Time Count
  • Determines analytical techniques and information-gathering processes and obtains required information and data for analysis
  • Discusses findings with management staff and assists in implementing changes resulting from studies and analyses
  • Enters data into various database systems including maintaining databases, preparing spreadsheets and reports, prepares budget information, and aids in necessary correspondence
  • Compile records, create and prepare reports and documents. Other duties as assigned

III. BASIC COMPETENCIES

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) years’ experience in HMIS role or similar position
  • Experience with working in Service Point /Homeless Management Information Systems

Skills and Abilities Needed:

  • Learn and effectively utilize different technology platforms.
  • Computer use knowledge with Microsoft Windows 10 and 365 Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Proven effective time management, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to work independently.
