Responsibilities

The Channel Development and Sales Manager will be responsible for driving the growth of Element Electronics' new commercial division sales strategy with a focus on establishing and managing relationships within new and emerging B2B markets. This role will help build a robust partner ecosystem, optimize sales performance, and collaborate cross-functionally to meet business objectives. The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution to drive revenue growth through innovative channel sales strategies, market expansion, and product development. Other responsibilities include:

Channel Strategy and Development

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive channel sales strategy, target new market opportunities and optimize existing partner relationships for our commercial division.
  • Identify, recruit, and onboard channel partners to expand Element Electronics' market presence for both existing and new product divisions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, resellers, and other channel partners.
  • Monitor and refine the channel ecosystem using data-driven insights to meet business objectives.
  • Gather market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive insights to inform product strategy and positioning.
  • Work closely with product teams to manage and refine the product roadmap and introduce enhancements and innovations based on user needs.
  • Ensure product and service features meet market requirements and provide a competitive advantage for Element.

Account Acquisition and Relationship Management

  • Lead the acquisition of key accounts in new markets and customize solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with high-profile accounts while ensuring trust, loyalty, and repeat business.
  • Serve as the primary contact for key accounts and address any issues or concerns to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Lead the sales process from opportunity identification through deal closure while supporting sales partners in securing high-value contracts.
  • Drive revenue growth by creating sales programs, promotions, and incentive programs tailored to channel partners.
  • Set sales targets for channel partners and provide ongoing support to achieve or exceed these goals.
  • Set and track performance metrics to drive channel sales and market development effectiveness and ensure sales objectives are consistently met.
  • Regularly report on performance metrics, providing actionable insights to senior leadership in order to refine sales strategies and optimize efforts and resources.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with engineering, product development, and customer support teams to integrate customer and market insights into product offerings.
  • Align product launches and sales initiatives with broader market-entry strategies.
  • Work closely with product management, marketing, and operations teams to ensure channel strategies align with company goals.
  • Analyze market trends and feedback to inform pricing, promotions, and product development.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop co-branded materials, promotional initiatives, and go-to-market campaigns.
  • Design and implement training programs to educate channel partners on Element Electronics' products, value proposition, and sales processes.
  • Provide ongoing sales support and resources, ensuring partners have the tools needed for success.
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with partners to drive long-term growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years in channel sales, partner management, or business development, preferably in electronics or consumer products.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and competitive analysis.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and developing effective channel ecosystems.
  • Experience in K-12 or higher education sales or consulting is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with emerging markets, global sales channels, and B2B environments.
  • Knowledge of CRM software and sales performance tools.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to visit partners, attend trade shows, and meet key accounts.
