Our Opportunity

The Director of Operations at Stylmark, Inc. is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the operations of the organization, improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies. The Director of Operations directly oversees all manufacturing operations to ensure production meets the required quality standards and lead times.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to the manufacturing team in areas such as effectiveness, safety, quality, and customer focus.
  • Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing areas, achieving year over year cost reductions, while increasing product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Actively review and monitor plant performance, including cycle times, labor performance and quality indicators. Develop action plans to address areas of concern.
  • Actively participate in daily operations through personal interaction with manufacturing employees, personal response to high profile situations, and regular communication with the teams.
  • Contribute as a member of Stylmark’s leadership team providing overall company management, direction, and strategic vision. Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity. Implement and manage operational plans for capability, capacity and quality enhancements.
  • Mentor, train and develop manufacturing supervisors, leads, support and manufacturing employees. Organize recruitment and placement of required staff. Establish optimum organizational structures. Delegate tasks and accountabilities. Monitor and evaluate performance. Formulate and install training plans to ensure a well-trained staff.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and reporting by OSHA, EPA, and federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
  • Review financial statements and data. Utilize financial data to improve profitability. Prepare and control operational budgets. Maintain accurate control of inventory usage minimizing cycle count errors. Plan effective strategies for the financial health of the company.
  • Motivate and energize the operations organization to make proactive decisions, encourage personal responsibilities and individual skill growth.

Desired Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing or related field required, master’s degree is a bonus
  • Minimum of seven years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, Proven track record of leading and developing teams to their highest potential level
    • Preferred: experience in small business/companies under 500 employees
  • Demonstrated ability to manage diverse work groups in a team environment
  • Documented examples of successfully driving change within organizations
  • Success leading organization to implement / maintain continuous improvement / lean manufacturing environment
  • Strong business acumen
  • Exceptional professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, with a positive attitude to achieve personal and team goals
  • Refined organizational skills and ability to manage, prioritize, schedule and balance multiple projects
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems
