Position Summary:
Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information, perform general ledger and financial reporting functions for NPH by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Record revenue, payroll and expense accrual journal entries.
- Prepare variance explanations for month-end results.
- Prepare financial presentations for Operations.
- Prepare income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
- Ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis to support Operations.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
- Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation of year-end audit support schedules.
- Assist with documentation of new business acquisitions and new accounting procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Licensing/Certification:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
- 4-7 years of full cycle accounting experience required
- Healthcare industry experience preferred
- Experience with Sage preferred
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to type from draft copy, review and edit reports and correspondence.
- Strong computer skills including MS Excel and MS Word
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trend and issues and ability to solutions to address issues
- Good mathematical skills a must.
- Skill in verbal and written communication.
- Skill in gathering and reporting information.
- Ability to work effectively with staff, physicians and external customers. Must display teamwork attitude and good inter-personal skills.
