Nassau Candy is a premier importer, manufacturer, and distributor of specialty confections, fine foods, and promotional products.

We are currently seeking a well-rounded Accounts Receivable Manager to oversee the daily activities of the accounts receivable department, ensuring the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components.

  • This position will be onsite in our Hicksville office.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of a company's accounts receivable function including monitoring AR aging, collecting outstanding payments from customers, monitoring customer credit limits, resolving billing disputes, and ensuring timely cash flow by actively pursuing overdue accounts
  • Lead and supervise a team of AR specialists to maintain accurate financial records and reporting
  • Train and mentor collection teams and evaluate performance
  • Document and implement debt collection policies and regulations of the company
  • Get to know customers and recognize changes in customer patterns and positions to strengthen and protect the company’s financial position
  • Prepare and analyze reports on collections and provide insightful feedback to management
  • Manage the negotiation and collection process with customers in cases of nonpayment
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience as an accounts receivable manager or supervisor
  • Experience in a manufacturing / distribution environment a plus
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly related to AR
  • Proven experience managing a team in an AR function
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Analytical skills to identify trends and interpret data from AR reports
  • Proficiency in accounting software and tools for managing AR functions
  • Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines effectively
  • Experience with ERP conversions a plus
