Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager the Food Service Specialist will interact with Food Service employees, Store Managers, and District Managers to ensure successful execution of the Parkland food safety requirements at locations. The Specialist will work to ensure all Parkland food programs are executed accurately to maintain brand integrity & excellent guest service. They will develop, train, and implement consistent food production methods while working with site level operations teams to grow top line food service sales in all assigned locations. This role will work with DM, SM, and site level food service staff to monitor and improve sales, waste, margins, and inv. Adjustments.

University degree, or equivalent education in management, with a solid food service background.

- Support food service production & merchandising as well as acts as a liaison in the field environment. Implement new programs and products at store level as assigned.
- Ensure that the food production plans are regularly amended to maximize profitability for each location through a combination of sales optimization and waste control.
- Partner with store managers in the maintaining of food safety, order guides, shelf tags, Date Code Genie, and other areas as needed where field input is valuable in enhancing the food service offering to our guests.
- Assist in the distribution of promotional merchandising materials such as signage, during scheduled field visits.
- Communicate problems, questions, and solution options identified during field visits to regional leadership.
- Communicates with Food Service Category Manager to ensure food service site execution meets Parkland USA process, quality, and customer service standards

- Identify successful new production ideas and methods, which can be shared throughout the company to positively impact top line sales & profitability. Conduct competitive price surveys and observe competitors for changes in key food service offerings as requested.
- Assists with the resolution of vendor problems at store or territory level communicating directly with local vendor representatives to improve the speed and results of the resolution process.
- Coordinate food service efforts with respect to new store openings, remodels, rebranding, and other store events.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must meet performance expectations. Must complete all duties as assigned.
- Frequent travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
- Strategically work with DM’s to monitor site level results and create action plans as needed.
- Complete ad-hoc assignments as directed by the Regional Operations Manager
- All other duties as required
University degree, or equivalent education in management, with a solid food service background.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of food service management experience, preferably in a multi-unit environment.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience, direct food service experience within a multi-unit business model, preferably food/convenience store industry
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to make difficult decisions that are based on sound data / information and that are in the best interest of Parkland. Must be able to view situations from all perspectives and must be fair in assessments and be able to strike a balance in making judgment calls.
- Ability to think and act professionally in pressure situations.
- Site Operations – ability to enforce safety and company standards.
- Financial Management – Results focused on P&L's and budgeting.
- Must be able to travel as reqquired to meet business demands.
- Computer Skills – proficiency is expected with the use of Excel, Word, Accounting Systems, E–Mail
