The HR Admin Assistant role will provide essential support to the Human Resources team, ensuring smooth operations and excellent service to employees. This role is responsible for administrative tasks, maintaining employee records, assisting with HR processes, and supporting recruitment and onboarding.

Your Day-to-Day

Every day looks different, but here’s a snapshot of what you’ll be up to:

  • Maintain and update employee records with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, screening, and interview scheduling and logistics
  • Support new hire onboarding by preparing materials and coordinating orientation logistics
  • Handle HR-related inquiries from employees and direct them to the appropriate team member
  • Assist in the coordination HR and training events, staff appreciation initiatives, and culture-building activities
  • Maintain compliance with HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with BattleCreek Church's mission and values.
  • Perform general administrative duties, such as scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and organizing HR files.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of HR to help all people, of all ages, all the time, advance in their journey with Christ    

What We’re Looking For

The must-haves for this role:

  • Education & Experience: We are looking for someone with at least Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field and 1 to 2 years of experience in an HR or administrative role. Having experience in a multi-site environment is an added plus!
  • Skills & Strengths:
  • You excel using the computer for a variety of tasks, specifically using Microsoft 365 and HR Management software.
  • You have strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to build relationships and establish trust.
  • You can maintain a high level of confidentiality and have experience handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • You’re driven by a desire to make an eternal impact and be part of God’s plan for Gospel transformation, you’ll thrive here!

The Essentials

Depending on the role, you might find yourself in an office, on stage, out in the community, or working behind the scenes. Evening and weekend hours may be required—it’s all part of ministry life!

This role is primarily office-based but may involve some physical activity, including standing, lifting (up to 20 pounds), kneeling, setting up equipment, or prepping for events—sometimes even late at night. Don’t worry; we’ll ensure you know what to expect!
