Materials Management Inventory Assistant

JOB PURPOSE & MISSION
Assists with the purchasing, distribution and maintenance of supplies and materials utilized by the OR and assists in the preparation of operative procedures as directed by Surgical Supply Services Manager. Job is performed appropriately for the age population served, as defined in the department’s scope of service.
Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:
1. Manages supply inventory and procurement necessary to perform OR procedures.
- Restocks Heart Cath Lab, GI Lab and each OR and Sterile Core Area using PAR level method to assure adequate “back up” supplies.
- Maintains PAR levels of the OR, GI Lab and Heart Cath Labs inventory location and assists in necessary adjustments of those PARs.
- Pulls items necessary for cases, using preference lists and pick tickets.
- Performs periodic checks of stock, non-stock, and specialty items and informs Surgical Supply Supervisor of shortages.
- Orders items needed by using ESI system and restocks as necessary.
- Orders materials and unit supplies on a schedule that ensures items are received prior to the depletion of stock.
- Receives all orders and checks for completeness, stocks appropriate supplies and assures their proper placement.
2. Performs all other duties as assigned.

HIPAA - Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: patient demographics, patient information related to surgery or appointment schedules, information related to patient location.
SAFETY - Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable safety practices appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: Incident reporting, sharps and linen, hand washing, environment of care, and patient identification.
