Arundel Federal is currently seeking a Compliance Specialist to assist the VP, Chief Risk Officer (CRO) with operational and administrative support to Bank’s compliance activities. This will include responding to compliance questions, providing compliance information to business units and third parties (auditors, examiners, Bank vendors), and maintaining the Bank’s compliance program with direction from the VP, CRO.

Arundel Federal is currently seeking a Compliance Specialist to assist the VP, Chief Risk Officer (CRO) with operational and administrative support to Bank’s compliance activities. This will include responding to compliance questions, providing compliance information to business units and third parties (auditors, examiners, Bank vendors), and maintaining the Bank’s compliance program with direction from the VP, CRO.
As the Compliance Specialist you will be responsible for:
- Develops and maintains a proficient knowledge of banking laws, rules and regulations and their impact on products, services, and operations for specific lines of business.
- Assist the VP, CRO in ensuring compliance with Bank policies, procedures, and internal controls as well as all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules and regulations. Assists in the investigation, documentation, and monitoring of compliance with these rules and regulations.
- Bank Secrecy Act responsibilities include supporting the Bank Secrecy Act Officer or senior management as appropriate and performs monitoring and reporting as assigned.
- Performs compliance monitoring and testing as directed by the VP, CRO.
- Maintains, delivers, and monitors compliance training for all lines of business. Provides status reports to management.
- Responsible for applying all the regulatory requirements during the performance of the job duties as assigned. Complete all annual required BSA and other bank compliance training as assigned in a timely manner.
- Performs other administrative, operational and compliance related duties as assigned by the VP, CRO.
- HS Diploma; AA degree preferred or equivalent years of experience.
- Minimum 1 - 2 years of experience in a financial institution or related field.
- General knowledge of retail banking products/services/operations and/or of BSA/AML/OFAC and consumer lending/deposits regulations.
- Excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, analytical skills, and detail orientation.
- Ability to conduct research, understand laws and regulations, and offer problem solutions.
- PC proficient, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the Internet.
- Ability to handle multiple projects/priorities simultaneously and meet required deadlines.
- Some local travel, as needed.
- Ability to function in a financial institution office environment and use standard office equipment, including, but not limited to: PC, fax, copier, telephone.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (i.e., file boxes).
