POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for quality training of all Clinical and Non-Clinical Support Staff as directed by the Training Manager. Ensures staff competency and consistency of system workflows and procedures in all offices. Holds frequent training off site, to assist staff in achieving competent skills in the delivery of health care. Additionally, helps to train staff on customer service. Coordinates training for all newly hired staff as well as ongoing training for existing staff. Serves as Subject Matter Expert for EHR and provides training and assistance to Providers. Adheres to Corporate Compliance program, by reporting improper or unethical conduct, violation of applicable laws, regulations or program requirements to Clinical Training Manager.

DETAILED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in tracking a pre-designed Clinical Training Program for all clinical support staff as assigned
  • Assesses staff for competency in required clinical skills at office locations
  • Assist with onboarding paperwork
  • Assists with the delivery of CPR and BLS training for staff as assigned
  • Provides in-service training to staff on clinical skills as directed by Training Manager
  • Aids with data entry of annual waive competency testing for all sites
  • Provides in-service training on all new clinical procedures
  • Performs back office inspections and enters data into file
  • Responsible for administering and tracking a pre-designed Training Program for all relevant support staff.
  • Provides end user training and support on the various clinical system applications
  • Assists in curriculum design, training manuals, classroom exercises, competency assessment and testing, and development of on-line computer-based learning modules in support of employee roles and job functions.
  • Revises existing materials as necessary to reflect the needs of the audience, makes application enhancements, and system upgrades.
  • Builds and updates training environment to support training materials and realistic scenarios/workflows required for end user training.
  • Provides follow-up support for end users, including reinforcement work sessions, departmental rounding, and on-the-job refresher in-services.
  • Participates in application testing and go-live activities, including support of new projects or system enhancements.
  • Assesses the learning needs of clinical and administrative staff to prepare them for using the systems required for patient care.
  • Participates in business and clinical operations meetings to assess user feedback, gather future requirements for modifications, and provide status on competency, adoptions, and utilization rates
  • Prepares all materials and supplies needed for classes prior to training
  • Demonstrates a willingness to accept non-routine work assignments as appropriate
  • Accessible for all staff during normal business hours as a troubleshooting resource.
  • Participates with Performance Improvement efforts e.g. completion of audits, chart reviews, logs etc.
  • Assists with the delivery of other associated training, including mandatory requirements for AAAHC, HRSA, PCMH, etc.
  • Promote Patient Satisfaction efforts through staff training on customer service, to include AIDET, diffusion, urgency, etc.
  • Works in conjunction with clinical Asst. Vice Presidents, Department Directors, Managers, and others as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Superior clinical competencies and the ability to transfer those competencies to the clinical staff
  • Proficient in phlebotomy
  • Knowledge of medical procedures, medical laws and ethics
  • Ability to apply the principles of adult training
  • Good organizational skills
  • Knowledge of instructional techniques and training methodologies in order to develop, implement, evaluate, and revise training programs.
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must possess solid interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to utilize computers with ease and proficient in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
  • Superior administrative, EHR, and Healthcare competencies and the ability to transfer those competencies to relevant staff.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with superiors and peers.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent training and experience
  • Minimum of CMA or CCMA required
  • Minimum of three years’ experience with an ambulatory healthcare setting
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a HealthCare related setting.
  • Prior computer and soft skills training required
  • Prior experience with Electronic Health Records.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior computer experience, medical systems required
  • CPR certified
  • Bilingual skills preferred: English and Spanish
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally

  • Coachable
