This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial statements, managing tax compliance across multiple entities and jurisdictions, and leading financial process improvements. The ideal candidate is a strategic finance professional with deep technical accounting expertise, strong leadership skills, and experience in multi-entity consolidation and tax reporting.

Position Summary
The Corporate Controller will manage the accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions for a growing $200 million revenue industrial organization with a complex multi-entity structure. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial statements, managing tax compliance across multiple entities and jurisdictions, and leading financial process improvements. The ideal candidate is a strategic finance professional with deep technical accounting expertise, strong leadership skills, and experience in multi-entity consolidation and tax reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
- Implement, document and maintain robust accounting policies and internal controls in compliance with US GAAP and industry regulations
- Work closely with operating unit controllers, and provide technical accounting guidance to Company stakeholders
- Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations, reconciliations and consolidations across multiple entities.
- Supervise the preparation of financial statements and coordinate external audits and reviews.
- Assist in the financial and capital expenditure budget planning and cost reduction initiatives
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of corporate and entity-level tax returns, including federal, state, and local filings.
- Partner with external tax advisors and internal finance teams to optimize tax strategy and minimize liabilities.
- Direct sales and use tax, property tax, and other tax compliance matters across multiple jurisdictions.
- Assist in optimizing working capital management, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory controls.
- Ensure proper controls over treasury functions, including bank reconciliations and cash forecasting.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial operations.
- system enhancements, ERP optimization, and automation initiatives to support growth.
- Ensure data integrity and enhance reporting capabilities through systems improvements
- Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing leadership, training, and career development.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, legal, and FP&A teams to support business objectives.
- Drive a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
- 8-10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, tax compliance, and financial reporting in a multi-entity structure.
- Experience with complex consolidations, intercompany transactions, and eliminations.
- Expertise in ERP systems and financial reporting tools. Sage experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth organization with competing priorities.
