Job Overview

Front-end mechanics will repair, maintain, and operate equipment used in producing cups and cans for the production line.

What You Will Do

• Ensures proper operation of large industrial equipment such as the cupper, body makers, trimmers, and coil handling equipment.
• Uses hand and power tools such as wrenches, ratchets, various power tools, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to ensure equipment is running properly and product is within required specifications
• May operate machinery such as lathes, presses, and grinders
• Must be proficient in tear down and reassembly of equipment. While ensuring tolerances within thousands.
• Gathers and assembles parts for repairs or modifications based on blueprints
• Troubleshoots and repairs machines when unexpected issues arise.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Provides advice and recommendations to management concerning front-end process equipment.
• Conducts safety inspections of the equipment and area assigned (front end)
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• Thorough and broad understanding of a variety of equipment.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Thorough understanding of safety practices, guidelines, rules, and laws.
• Must be able to work well within a team environment or on your own.
  
  

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational school or associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 2 years of experience in a mechanical role.
