Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Manager to oversee the purchasing process within our organization. The ideal candidate will ensure cost-effective procurement of materials, supplies, and services while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

Essential Functions

  • Develop, implement, and manage procurement strategies to optimize quality, cost savings, and efficiency.
  • Analyze spending trends and negotiate contracts with suppliers to achieve cost reduction.
  • Monitor and manage procurement budgets to align with financial goals.
  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Oversee the issuance and management of purchase orders,
  • Ensure accurate tracking of inventory levels and order replenishment to avoid shortages or overstock.
  • Work closely with operations and production teams to align procurement with demand forecasting.
  • Assess and mitigate procurement risks, including supplier reliability and quality control.
  • Work with internal departments including finance, engineering, and operations to align procurement with business needs.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with legal and company policies, including sustainability and ethical standards.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance to senior management.
  • Manage the purchasing team, providing training, support, and performance evaluations.
  • Participate in vendor audits and supplier improvement programs.
  • Support sustainability initiative by sourcing eco-friendly and cost-effective materials.
  • Stay up to date with market trends, supply chain disruptions, and technological advancements in procurement.

Requirements

Required education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in procurement or supply chain management

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPM, CSCP) is a plus.
  • Experience in international sourcing and global supply chain management
  • Manufacturing environment

Physical demands

  • Up to 10lbs of force exerted occasionally.
  • Up to 5lbs frequently
  • Significant sitting

Travel Required.

  • Travel is minimal but may have to travel to other location.

Work environment

  • Periodic weekend or evening work as needed.
