- The Handyman Lead Specialist oversees the daily operations of the Safety of Seniors/Handyman Program, a fall prevention and minor home repair program for 60+. This role ensures compliance with Volunteers of America guidelines and includes responsibilities such as volunteer recruitment and management, data collection, and implementing the home safety assessment program. The Handyman Lead Specialist also handles administrative tasks, including answering phone calls, processing service requests, maintaining records, and coordinating communication between clients, volunteers, and partner agencies
Program Operations
- Ensure that the senior's voice is heard, and their ideas play a prominent role in programming.
- Receive phone call requests for services, perform intake assessments, assess repair needs, and document necessary details.
- Clearly communicate program service limitations and available assistance to clients.
- Accurately enter and maintain client and service data in ServTracker, ensuring records are up to date and properly documented.
- Maintain an updated referral list and refer clients to appropriate services as needed.
- Conduct follow-ups with clients to assess service satisfaction and address any concerns, ensuring continuous program improvement.
- Assist with grant reporting and documentation as needed to support program funding and compliance.
- Process invoices in compliance with VOAC procedures and vendor account requirements, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Coordinate with volunteers and Handyman Technicians to assign and schedule jobs.
- Ensure services align with the evolving needs of older adults by analyzing service statistics, demographic trends, and best practices.
- Plan and implement outreach efforts to raise awareness of program services and educate the public on the needs of older adults.
- Monitor and manage program inventory, including tools, materials, and supplies needed for minor repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety and risk management procedures, including proper documentation of client interactions.
- Assist with volunteer and Handyman Technician recruitment, orientation, and recognition to support program needs.
- Serve as a backup for minor handyman repairs when needed, while primarily focusing on administrative duties, client coordination, and program management.

- Increase program volunteer engagement by 10%
- Driving in company vehicle(s) to a variety of locations occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision and the ability to quickly adjust focus
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Full Time Non-Exempt
- Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30pm and designated holidays.
- Evening and/or weekend hours may be required based on program events or assigned job duties.

- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Bachelor’s degree in related area or the equivalent relevant experience.
- Own transportation, valid Colorado driver’s license, and proof of insurance.
- Pass criminal background check and is bondable.
- Experience in or knowledge of general handyman services, including minor plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs.
- Volunteer Management Experience
- Fluent in Spanish
- Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good organizational skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency to utilize computer applications in a Windows and Microsoft Office environment.
$21.50-$22.60/hr
