Job Description: DIRECTOR OF WAREHOUSE & CORPORATE OPERATIONS
JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Warehouse & Corporate Operations oversees the management, execution, direction, coordination and development of distribution and warehouse processes and staff, including developing and managing budgets, employee development, implementation and project management, system administration, and the negotiation of supplier contracts and management of supply vendor relationships. Additionally, The Director will oversee the Customer Service and Facilities Team. This position is a hands-on role that will require a significant investment in the development of processes and procedures, hiring and training staff.
Operations & Logistics
- Oversee the implementation of all Warehouse and E-Commerce operations, including logistics, scheduling systems, delivery and loading dock activity, and fulfillment.
- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in warehouse operations including optimal space utilization, capacity planning, and efficient inventory flow.
- Directly accountable for the successful implementation, assessment, and transition of all new operational initiatives.
- Assist in the development and implementation of productivity standards and goals in support of the annual operating plan.
- Ensure all warehouse operations adhere to industry standards and regulations.
Process Improvement & Data Analytics
- Using quantifiable metrics and management expertise, perform departmental audits to determine cost-benefit as well as demand and service capacity.
- Utilize data analytics to evaluate past performance, forecast inventory flow, and optimize the distribution of goods to stores.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
- Create a culture of continuous quality improvement and maintain reporting of action plans.
Talent Management & Leadership
- Implement and oversee training for warehouse safety and emergency action plans while cultivating talent through teaching, coaching, and developing on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Develop and drive a culture of accountability through daily assessments and operational evaluation.
- Serve as a member of the Leadership team and as such is responsible for providing leadership in decision-making and vision building.
Strategic Planning & Cross-Department Collaboration
- Oversee Customer Service and Facilities Team to ensure pristine operations within the corporate building and store network.
- Develop a scalable model for Store/E-Comm Fulfillment and Facility Maintenance strategy with Cross-Functional Department Leaders to support the company’s expansion goals.
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve organizational goals and performance metrics.
General Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, especially when overseeing operations.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of materials, typically up to 25-50 lbs,.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb as needed in warehouse or facility environments.
- Manual dexterity for using a computer, phone, and office equipment.
- Good vision and hearing to monitor operations and communicate effectively.
Environmental & Work Conditions
- Ability to work in both office and operational settings, including warehouses, production floors, or distribution centers.
- Exposure to varying temperatures if overseeing logistics, warehouse, or outdoor operations.
- Possible need to travel between sites, depending on company structure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of management experience in warehouse, fulfillment, and operational leadership roles.
- Proven experience in senior leadership, including strategic planning, policy development, and budget management.
- Five years of experience with distribution and logistics systems preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
- Highly detail-oriented with exceptional multitasking and organizational abilities.
