The Machine Operator II for Bud's Goods of New Jersey must be able to operate and oversee specialized automated packaging equipment and to keep the equipment clean and running efficiently at all times. This role's success relies heavily on the successful operation of the facility's automated packaging equipment, therefore an understanding of mechanical and controls systems is required.The Machine Operator's goal is for total client satisfaction and works hard to always adhere to Bud's Goods' high standards for quality and service to our clients and the terms of our client agreements. Level 1 operators or label makers advancing at Buds may promote to a level 2 operator by demonstrating competency as a machine operator, label creator/applicator or both

- Prepares workspace, and work streams for shift operations
- Understands production sequence and prepares material inputs in order
- Plans production to minimize downtime and the number of required change overs
- Collaborates without intervention to have product prepared (ground material, pouches labeled) well in advance of runs
- Arrives early to perform shift handoff / prepare for shift operations
- Cleans equipment including being aware of difficult to reach areas
- Gatekeeper: Must know and demonstrate competence in Microsoft systems (Excel and Sharepoint)
- Sets up, runs, and changes over any label applicator/printer (MFT, Walco)
- Provides training to a tech on how to properly operate MFT or Walco labeler
- Performs all level 2 machine operator tasks on the label applicators
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, presentation, and project management skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, high stress tolerance, and exemplary emotional intelligence
- Understands and thrives in fast-paced, KPI-driven production environments
- Team player
- HS Diploma or 2+ years of related field experience
- Basic understanding of material inputs impact on machine performance
- Cannabis product knowledge strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success of at least ten instances of troubleshooting to resolve a problem
- Demonstrates all Machine Operator level 1requirements
- Able to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to work a fully flexible schedule including nights and weekends if necessary
- Extensive use of hands, including repetitive movements
- Must pass all required background checks
- Must have a reliable transportation
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
- Must possess valid driver's license
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must be approved by Cannabis Regulatory Commission to work in cannabis industry
