Job Responsibilities
- Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift or area.
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in setting maintenance standards.
- Assist in developing procedures for performing daily maintenance tasks.
- Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing maintenance assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
- Perform administrative requirements (i.e., completing necessary forms, reports, etc.) and submit them to the Maintenance Supervisor as necessary.
- Submit accidents/incident reports to the Maintenance Supervisor on the shift in which they occur.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and other team members to ensure the completion of assigned tasks and projects within designated timelines.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for both staff and residents.
- Assist in training and supervising new maintenance staff as required.
- Maintain open and effective communication with residents, staff, and management to address maintenance-related concerns or requests promptly and efficiently.
- Support the overall cleanliness and appearance of the community through regular inspections and maintenance of common areas and resident living spaces.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Good telephone skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in performing maintenance tasks.
- Ability to adequately perform the physical requirements of the position, which may include lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating maintenance equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- A caring, team-player attitude with a customer service-focused personality.
- Knowledge of healthcare maintenance standards, regulations, and procedures is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance management systems or software is desirable.
