Shipping Material Handler

Responsible for picking, packaging and processing of finished products for shipments to customers.

• Store finished goods in proper locations.
• Assist in maintenance of finished goods inventory records through regular cycle counts.
• Perform inventory system transactions as required to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Pick orders when product becomes available for shipping.
• Prepare products for shipping, including packaging for transportation, weighing and measuring packages
• Process packaged items in shipping software to produce shipping labels and documents and create appropriate inventory transactions
• Assist in loading and unloading outbound and inbound freight from trucks as required
• Ensure shipping documents are complete, accurate and processed appropriately at time of shipment
• Operate industrial forklift equipment as required.
• Uses safe work practices and suggests improvements for department safety, organization and housekeeping.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Basic math skills
• Knowledge of cycle count process and able to assist in finding cycle count discrepancies.
• Ability to pass forklift training
• Ability to use ERP software required.
• Detail oriented and organized.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with all production groups.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months to 1 year computer and Microsoft application experience.
• 6 months to 1 year of receiving and inventory control experience in a distribution warehouse environment.
• Required to stand for a minimum of 2 hours before receiving a 15-to-30-minute break.
• Required to use fingers and hands, handle, manipulate or feel objects and/or controls, reach with hands and arms, bend, walk, talk, see and hear
• Lifting required is typically 70 pounds or less.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• The facility is not climate controlled. Work areas can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
