The Director of Corporate Grant Development will play a pivotal role in identifying, writing, and submitting high-quality grant proposals to both current and prospective corporate partners. This position requires expertise in corporate grant development best practices and an adherence to AKF's grant guidelines. Working closely with the corporate team, the Director will craft proposals that align with both the strategic priorities of AKF and those of potential funders. Additionally, they will proactively research new corporate grant opportunities and assess their feasibility for inclusion in the pipeline. The Director will collaborate across departments to ensure project alignment, develop budgets, and set appropriate sponsorship levels. A strong background in grant writing and corporate development is essential for success in this role.

Essential Functions

  • Partner with relationship managers on the corporate fundraising team to develop and submit grants to existing and potential corporate partners.
  • Extract key information from partner meetings and relationship manager discussions to write compelling grant proposals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure grant proposals align with AKF's strategic goals, current programs, and capacity for execution.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop internal budgets and determine appropriate sponsorship levels, including obtaining pricing for project elements.
  • Maintain and update corporate proposal templates and track grant proposal progress using the corporate proposal tracking document.
  • Review and provide feedback on proposals prepared by other team members to ensure they follow the approved templates, reflect AKF's voice, and include all necessary pricing information.
  • Identify and evaluate new corporate funding sources, particularly from non-endemic companies, to expand AKF's funding pool.
  • Maintain updated standard pricing document for AKF offerings.
  • Keep detailed records of past, present, and upcoming grant opportunities, deadlines, and proposal statuses.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the Development Department and the organization's overall success.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience. 5-7 years of corporate grant fundraising experience required.
  • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously with demonstrated success in project management and program development.
  • Must be able to anticipate, plan, prioritize and react to changing needs and situations with professionalism, integrity, and diplomacy.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, a positive disposition, strong written and verbal communication skills, be goal-oriented, excellent decision-making and judgment skills, strong project skills as well as an innate sense of pace and urgency.
  • Self-starter with ability to equally function autonomously and as a member of a team, with a high regard for accountability and outcomes.
  • Proficient in in-depth knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint) as well as fundraising database software (Raisers Edge, Convio, or similar software) a plus.
  • Some experience in voluntary health preferred.

AKF offers a hybrid work schedule with employees working in the office 1-4 days per month and telework the rest of the time.
