Microbest is currently searching for a seasoned Toolmaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a robust skill set operating a variety of machine shop equipment, including manual and CNC mills, lathes, grinders, saws, and other standard metal cutting machinery. This individual will play a crucial role in supporting the manufacture and repair of custom machining fixtures and gauges, thereby supporting the efficient manufacture of both new and existing products on our high-volume production CNC machinery.

This individual will play a crucial role in supporting the manufacture and repair of custom machining fixtures and gauges, thereby supporting the efficient manufacture of both new and existing products on our high-volume production CNC machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Expert operation of a diverse range of machine shop equipment, encompassing lathes, mills, grinders, saws, and EDM machines.
- Execute activities guided by the proper interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications for the fabrication and maintenance of custom machining fixtures and gauges.
- Collaborate closely with other Toolroom staff and Engineering to devise effective tooling solutions.
- Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on fixtures and gauges to uphold optimal quality and performance standards.
- Uphold a tidy and well-organized working environment within the Toolroom.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship training is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Toolmaker or in a similar capacity within a manufacturing setting.
- Highly skilled at operating a variety of machine shop equipment, including mills, lathes, saws, and grinders.
- Advanced skills utilizing a wide variety of inspection equipment including, but not limited to Micrometers, height gauges, vision systems, and bore gauges.
- Good understanding of GD&T principles, along with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, prints and specifications.
- Capacity to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
