Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated Network Engineer to design, deploy, maintain, and support our fast-paced, growing network infrastructure. This role involves hands-on configuration of routers, switches, and firewalls, plus identifying and implementing best practices to optimize our current environments. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong background in networking technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, excels in both technical leadership and team collaboration, and can solve complex network issues efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, configuration, deployment, support, and administration of all network infrastructure for multiple sites.
  • Proactively evaluate and recommend improvements to ensure maximum performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to manage the full lifecycle of network projects and integrations.
  • Establish and maintain clear documentation for configuration, monitoring, business continuity, and disaster recovery (including diagrams, policies, and procedures).
  • Oversee firewall management, implement LAN segmentation, and ensure adherence to security policies and best practices.
  • Perform preventative network maintenance tasks such as software updates, patches, and backups.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in networking.
  • Prioritize workload alongside internal Technical Support Teams.
  • Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call as required to address critical network issues and support organizational needs.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven background in physical and virtual deployments as a Network Engineer (or a similar role).
  • Expertise in core networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, Routing, and SD-WAN).
  • Strong knowledge of network security principles and technologies (Firewalls, NAC, Radius, 802.1x, AD).
  • Demonstrated ability to sense the urgency of a project or situation and own it through resolution.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, Terraform, or other networking hardware and software.
  • Understanding of networking principles with virtualization technologies, Windows, and Linux.
  • Willingness to travel to remote locations for installations, upgrades, and surveys.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have but not required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with Big Leaf networking systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with Ekahau networking tools.
  • Certifications such as Cisco CCNA or CCNP, NSE, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are a plus.
