OMNI Surgery Center/OMNI Pain and Precision Medicine is seeking LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSES (LPNs) for WEEKDAY SHIFTS, at its state-of-the-art, multi-specialty, ambulatory surgery center in Utica, New York. Multiple part-time positions available, with flexible shifts from 8 - 12 hours. No weekends, no nights, no on-call.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients pre and post operatively.
• Prepares patients for surgery, assist physician during surgery, observe and monitor post-op patients.
• Prepares rooms, equipment and supplies to accommodate the patient load.
• Assists physician with procedure.
• Provides patient education.
• Assists in transporting patient from pre-op/admit area to procedure room after greeting and identifying patient.
• Assists with opening supplies and assisting with surgical preparation.
• Assists in maintaining a comfortable, orderly, clean safe environment.
• Documents on all forms as required.
• Adheres to the Center’s policies and procedures.
• Maintains open and positive communication with nursing personnel and other health professionals.
• Communicates in a positive manner with patients, families/significant others.
• Maintains professionalism in fast paced setting.
• Participates in continuing education programs.
• Participates in risk management and quality assurance activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current licensure in New York as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Competence in oral and written communication.
• Intermittent physical mobility/activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting, pulling and pushing of carts, equipment, etc.
