Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for a Geotechnical Engineer in Canton, MI!

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting site investigations to assess ground conditions, soil properties, and geotechnical risks.
  • Performing geotechnical analyses and calculations to determine foundation design parameters, slope stability, and earthwork specifications.
  • Designing foundations, retaining structures, embankments, and other geotechnical structures.
  • Preparing technical reports, drawings, and specifications for construction projects.
  • Collaborating with other engineering disciplines, architects, and construction teams to ensure geotechnical considerations are integrated into project designs.
  • Monitoring and inspecting construction activities to ensure compliance with geotechnical design requirements and specifications.


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.
  • Prior experience in geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, or related field is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • The role may involve working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physically demanding tasks, such as lifting equipment, moving soil samples, and standing for extended periods. Willingness to travel to project sites and work in outdoor environments is required.
