Job Summary

This position is essential in keeping the production line moving and ENVE customers happy. This role is responsible for the overall procurement and coordination of purchased materials and basic production scheduling. The Buyer will be a motivated, team driven individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who must be able to prioritize and make sound decisions.

Essential Functions

  • Plan and purchase raw and finished good material per demand requirements, including analyzing demand to understand fluctuations/trends/seasonality, managing inventory levels per goals, and driving cost reduction efforts. Manage purchase order delivery dates per supplier commitments and change orders to align PO deliverables with new schedule requirements.
  • Utilize inventory management methods to maintain set stocking levels for inventoried supplies. Help resolve availability issues (material shortages), vendor non-conformances, quality issues, returns and invoice discrepancies by driving to root cause, implementing corrective actions, attending appropriate meetings supporting internal customers and management.
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships to manage consumable inventories. Assist in setting up supplier agreements with critical suppliers to minimize supply chain disruption and contain cost and supplier metrics that support a supplier performance measurement system or report card.
  • Support supply chain and organization with the data to create periodic status reports.
  • May need to participate in a weekly overseas production call (currently scheduled for 9:00 pm MST each Wednesday).

Secondary Functions

  • Work with cross functional team on supplier quality issues.
  • Cycle counting inventory at the direction of the warehouse manager.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Follow all procedures as they pertain to this position.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY/POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position; days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day. Regular onsite attendance is expected and required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (R) = Required (P) = Preferred (Equivalent combinations will be considered)

(P) Bachelor’s degree.

(R) 3+ years’ experience in procurement, preferably in the bike or outdoor industry.

(P) 2+ years’ experience as a planner.

(R) Understanding of MRP logic.

(R) Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.

(R) Ability to use a computer/tablet/keyboard.

(R) Experience with ERP Systems; SAP byDesign a plus.

(P) Manufacturing experience.

(R) Ability to read, write and speak English.

(P) APICS certification

Physical / Visual Requirements

Must be able to work in an office and loud environment.

Requires sitting for long periods of time at a keyboard in an office environment but can also require standing, walking, bending, grasping, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching to perform the functions of this position.

Must be able to understand the speech of another person as well as speak clearly so listeners can understand.

Regularly required to talk and hear.

Must be able to occasionally lift product, supplies and materials weighing up to 40 lbs (couple times per week).
