Responsibilities
- Leads electro-mechanical and software development projects from inception through testing and final delivery
- Collaborates with R&D, marketing, and other stakeholders to convert marketing requirements into actionable project specifications and engineering deliverables
- Analyzes requirements, technology, and available resources to plan and assess the feasibility of projects, including initial schedule and budget estimates
- Defines key project milestones and deliverables, develop comprehensive project plans, and clearly communicate responsibilities and expectations to the team
- Tracks project progress against plan, proactively addressing deviations and implementing corrective actions to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
- Regularly updates the team and management on project status, highlighting progress, budget and schedule variances, risks, and any required adjustments
- Ensures that products meet necessary regulatory requirements for domestic and key international markets
- Collaborates with manufacturing and quality teams to provide ongoing support throughout the product lifecycle, driving updates and improvements as needed
- Collaborates with developers and intellectual property lawyers to identify and pursue opportunities for protecting intellectual property arising from development activities
- Oversees third-party business partners, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring that their work aligns with project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
- Integrates work completed by external resources into the company's product and technology portfolio, ensuring cohesion and quality
- Pursues external funding opportunities, such as grants and partnerships, to support product and technology development initiatives
- Develops and implements policies, standards and procedures to guide engineering and technical work performed
- Maintains current knowledge of industry trends and technological advancements relevant to the company's products, ensuring the team is equipped with the most effective tools and techniques
- Mentors and develops junior Electrical Engineering team
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or relevant technical field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in leading electro-mechanical and software development projects, preferably in a leadership capacity
- Experience performing embedded, desktop, mobile, and server-side software development
- Experience with software and electrical design
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
