Description: We are seeking candidates for our Family Coach position. Join our team!
Summary: Serves as the link between the family, community and agency for families enrolled in Community Progress Council’s Early Childhood Education programs. Assists families with enrollment into programs, goalsetting, and ongoing coaching as it relates to school-readiness and self-sufficiency. Has a full understanding of CPC programming and develops and maintains strong working relationships with community partners. Will problem-solve with family to resolve crises through use of internal and external resources. Provide individualized, culturally sensitive support to family using a relationship-based and client-centered approach and coordinates services internally and externally. Will support family as they transition from Early Childhood Education program to kindergarten. Will partner with the family to create goals and action steps that will move them toward self-sufficiency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Department of Human Services FBI Clearance, PA State Criminal History, Childline Child Abuse Certification, and submission to the National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR) required prior to hire. Employees hired for positions, regulated by Department of Human Services (DHS), are required to submit documentation of a current (less than 1 year) physical assessment including a Tuberculosis skin test, prior to hire and on a biennial basis (physical only) throughout employment. The Child Abuse “Mandated Reporter” training due within 90-days of hire.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONISBILITIES

- Demonstrate commitment to the vision, mission, and values of Community Progress Council.
- Have a full understanding of CPC programming and the requirements and maintain a full understanding including eligibility.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies and groups to coordinate referrals and services to clients; help to identify gaps in services.
- Support the enrollment process for families.
- Complete holistic assessments to help address family strengths, needs and/or concerns.
- Work with family to identify goals and provide a coaching experience that is focused and motivating to clients at a location that is convenient for them.
- Support families with follow up for child attendance, health concerns and other needs, provide families with needed support for advocacy, school-readiness, and success.
- Assist family in identifying action steps necessary to achieve their goals, monitor progress.
- Complete timely and accurate data entry; maintain accurate records, collaborate with internal programs, and ensure client confidentiality.
- Facilitate parent engagement activities for caseload as needed, including but not limited to planning, sending letters/reminders, organizing speakers, executing meetings/groups, etc.
- Collaborate as part of comprehensive service team to families including health, education, and inclusion.
- Provide timely and accurate reports to meet internal and external requirements.
- Represent Community Progress Council in community by serving on internal and external committees.
- Participate in all professional development opportunities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to demonstrate good customer service to internal and external clients and be able to work with diverse individuals while demonstrating good communication skills both oral and written.
- Ability to take personal responsibility for yourself and your team, demonstrating leadership and supervisory skills. Being dependable, flexible, professional, and cooperative in a team environment.
- Ability to be reached by telephone in a timely manner.
- Reliable transportation for regular and timely attendance as an essential job requirement and for travel to various work sites throughout York County. This position may require driving company vehicles. Motor vehicle records will be checked. A valid PA driver's license, insurance declaration page, and adherence to the driving policy will be required.
- May be required to commence workday at different agency sites.
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred, Certification in Human Services, or a related field accepted.
- Must have one year of related experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents (English) such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write (English) routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate verbally effectively (English) before groups of clients or employees of organization, bilingual skills helpful.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite in a Windows environment is helpful and preferred.
