Description
Christie Clinic's department of OB/GYN is seeking a full-time Midwife(Sign-On Bonus Available) from 7:30am-5:00pm at the University clinic in Champaign. This position may require travel to satellite clinics to support the OB/GYN department.
This position provides Obstetrics/Gynecologic and Preventive Medicine healthcare services to patients under the direction and responsibility of licensed Physicians. Labor and delivery experience is required.

Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
Typical Working Conditions
Work is performed in both a clinical office setting and hospital setting and requires frequent exposures to sharp objects, communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Requirements include working irregular hours.
Pay And Benefits

JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
- Manage ante partum, intrapartum, postpartum, and immediate neonatal care of patients in accordance with the nursing and advanced practice nursing act.
- Participate in initial examination of obstetrical patient, and assume responsibility for care, treatment, and delivery of patients.
- For both Gyne and Obstetrical patients utilize physical findings, laboratory test results, and patient’s statements to evaluate condition and create an educated diagnosis and treatment plan.
- Administer controlled drugs, intravenous solutions, antibiotics, and other agents used to treat medical problems.
- Supervise and assist patients in labor. Monitor the condition of the fetus and use knowledge of drugs and pain management as necessary.
- Perform spontaneous vaginal deliveries and episiotomies. Perform postpartum examinations and treatments to ensure that patient and infant are responding normally.
- Assist with C-sections as needed.
- Make patient postpartum rounds, record patient progress to be countersigned by the attending physician, compile and record detailed narrative case summaries as appropriate.
- Contact physician immediately when deviations from standard are encountered during pregnancy or delivery and administer stipulated emergency measures.
- Provide one-on-one patient education concerning pregnancy, childbirth, and family orientation. Instruct patient in diet and prenatal health practices.
- Perform physical examinations, preventive health measures, evaluation and management of gynecologic disorders.
- Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to create an educated diagnosis for the patient.
- Work in conjunction with a collaborating physician.
- Perform related work as required.
- Successful completion of a Nurse Midwifery program provided by the American College of Nurse Midwives
- Evidence of annual completion of health related courses and/or seminars with a certificate and/or CEU
- Certified Illinois Nurse Midwife License
- Labor and delivery experience
